The Opportunity

After a fire devastated the Church and left the building unstable, the leadership had no choice but to rebuild a sanctuary for its current membership and future families.

How Catalyst Facilitated Change

We developed a comprehensive strategy to raise an initial $7 million before the COVID pandemic and then an additional $1.2 million due to the increase of construction, interior mosaics, and iconography. We provided capital campaign management, volunteer training, and administrative support for every phase of the campaign.

The Outcome

The Church reached their initial goal and the additional amount in the 5-year timeframe. In addition, the Church is set to complete the interior iconography by 2024. This type of interior completion is unprecedented in the Greek community.

“With a project of this magnitude, the hurdles could have been daunting, but Michelle Turman and her team at Catalyst were instrumental in organizing and managing our efforts. They helped train our volunteers and staff on a multitude of items, such as the implementation of processes and procedures, donor database software, and fundraising best practices. She helped us execute our plan and kept us on task with frequent updates, conference calls, and meetings. Having Michelle hold us accountable made the difference in our success.”
